CLEVELAND, OH —June 18, 2008 —TES Engineering, a national consulting mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) engineering firm, has been selected as a Leading EDGE Award winner for 2008. The annual award, presented by the non-profit organization Entrepreneurs EDGE, honors middle-market companies that make significant contributions to the economy in Northeast Ohio.
Middle-market companies are defined as having annual revenues of less than $500 million. Other eligibility requirements include being located within the 17-county Northeast Ohio region and selling outside of the area. The award selection process considers job creation, support of local suppliers, and contributions to civic projects.
TES’ revenues have nearly tripled since 2002, and additional revenue increases of more than 70 percent are projected by 2010. The Firm had 24 full-time employees in 2006, and the current staff has grown to 29—all of whom live in Northeast Ohio. TES had already doubled its space at its previous location in 2004, and moved to new quarters in July 2006 to accommodate staff expansion. The current facility has room to triple in size to meet the needs for future growth, including an expansion planned for this year.
President Lawrence (Larry) M. Thomas, P.E., attributes TES’ success to the Firm’s people and approach to customer service. “We’ve instilled caring and passion for responsive service into our staff to build our company and culture around developing clients’ trust and turning them into raving fans. Also, we’re not a traditional engineering firm—discussions with our clients are just as likely to cover finances, building appearance, and kiosk locations as they are air-conditioning capacities, power requirements, and plumbing needs,” he says. “Our unique perspective helps us continue to attract the best clients and our growth keeps us adding top talent in Northeast Ohio.”
