TES Engineering Wins Weatherhead 100 Award For Second Consecutive Period of Fast Growth

CLEVELAND, OH —Dec. 9, 2008 —TES Engineering, a national consulting mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) engineering firm, has been selected as a Weatherhead 100 winner for 2008. The annual award, presented by the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University and the Council of Smaller Enterprises (COSE) in Cleveland, OH, honors the 100 fastest growing companies in Northeast Ohio. TES also received this award in 2007, and was recognized in 2008 as a Northeast Ohio Leading EDGE winner and an Inc. 5000 company.

Weatherhead 100 eligibility requirements include net sales of at least $100,000 in 2003 and over $1 million in 2007, an increase in 2007 sales over the prior year, and a minimum of 16 full-time employees in 2007. A ranking system determines the top companies.

TES’ revenues have nearly tripled since 2003, including a 24 percent increase in 2007 over 2006. The Firm had 29 full-time employees in 2007.

TES had already doubled its space at its previous location in 2004, and moved to new quarters in July 2006 to accommodate further staff expansion. The current facility has room to triple in size to meet the needs for future growth.

President Lawrence (Larry) M. Thomas, P.E., attributes TES’ success to not being a traditional engineering firm. “Great engineering is just the ticket in the door—what sets us apart is our passion for responsive service and culture of developing clients into raving fans,” he says. “Discussions with our clients include their overall business issues and finances, looking for pain points where we can bring relief. Another key difference is that my partner, Steve Chase, our senior staff members, and I have hands-on backgrounds in construction as contractors that enable us to provide dependable guidance to our clients and keep designs in line with budgets.”
