TES Engineering has extensive experience in MEP design for educational facilities, from pre-schools to universities. In addition, we've done feasibility studies and MEP designs and upgrades to install Education Resource Centers for "at risk" youth in regional shopping malls throughout the country. Typical education projects have included HVAC, electrical, and plumbing for renovations, additions, and expansions of classrooms, laboratories, gymnasiums, media centers, dormitories, common spaces, and offices. We also have done renovations to support Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) upgrades at various school buildings, including classrooms for the hearing impaired.
TES has prepared energy audits and Energy Star® certification for several schools. For projects following "green" building guidelines, we offer sustainable design and LEED®–Accredited Professionals to help projects earn points toward USGBC certification. We also perform studies and evaluations to guide decision-making. For example, our study of a Northeast Ohio university's campus chilled water system included significant field verification to evaluate all the circumstances that resulted in low return water temperatures and associated loss of system capacity. With the data and system information gathered in the study, we were able to provide guidance to improve the performance of the entire system.
We always seek to provide the best value by looking for the most cost-effective engineering solutions and recommending more energy-efficient equipment to replace old units. TES creates "buildable" documents that include all details of the job to produce better quality construction bids without contingencies that are easy to compare. And we know how to get work completed without impacting the operations of the school.
