 Study & Evaluation Experience

  • Survey and recommendations to upgrade the secondary power distribution system at a large Regional Shopping Center in the Seattle area that included options for tenant metering, physical limitations, long-term flexibility and methods for implementation over a six-month period without the loss of a single hour of normal business operations.
  • Mechanical system, energy and return on investment analysis for a 500,000 ft2, two-level regional shopping center.  Compared a chilled-water central plant to distributed rooftop variable air volume.
  • Recommendations for the implementation of an Indoor Air Quality study at a large northern Ohio government office building.  The building had been vacated on several occasions prior to our finding solutions to the reported problems and objective report of their causes.
  • Total Environmental Study for the conversion of a Euclid Avenue mansion into a Health Care Conference Center.  The indoor air quality issues for the occupants, historical structure and contents dictated an engineered filtration and humidification system.
  • Study to improve the energy efficiency of the University of Akron’s District Cooling and Thermal Storage Systems.  Our recommendation blended automated controls, control valve retrofits, VFD retrofits for both fans and pumps and changes to their control sequences.
  • Feasibility, Energy and Life Cycle analysis to add cooling and dehumidification Bowling Green State University’s Recreation Center.  Estimated project cost: $1.2 to $1.8 million.
  • Recommendation report for cost-effective and energy-conscious methods to eliminate medical and other odors in several northern Ohio facilities for the aging.
  • Plastic extruding facility study that determined a controlled environment would result in 3% to 5% production increases resulting in less than a three-year payback and solve a long-term problem with employee turnover.
  • Study and implementation of an upgrade of the cooling systems in eleven engine and transmission dynamometer test laboratories.  Our creative blending of mechanical cooling and traditional ventilation resulted in a significant first cost and operating cost savings.
  • Recommendations for complete ventilation system replacement to reduce temperature and migration of dust into two LTV Steel rolling mill motor centers.  Each motor center housed seven motors totaling over one hundred thousand horsepower.
