Bob Scherry Joins TES Engineering as Manager of Tenant Services
CLEVELAND, OH — Sept. 10, 2002 — Bob Scherry has joined TES Engineering in the new position of manager of tenant services, bringing 25 years of drafting, design and construction supervision experience to the mechanical and consulting engineering firm. President Lawrence M. Thomas, P.E. announced the appointment.
TES has developed services for regional retail mall developers geared toward getting tenants paying rent sooner and having more tenants ready for Grand Opening, as well as providing economical on-going facility management. These include researching and developing mall standards, documentation of electrical, mechanical and plumbing services, checking code compliance, reviewing tenant needs against mall property standards, revising utilities for redemising spaces, construction consulting, and engineering for facility maintenance and upgrades.
Scherry will coordinate the delivery of these services, and will execute pre-deal investigations, oversee the tenant review process, and handle landlord splits. He also will lend his experience in construction supervision for design-build contractors to insure that TES produces construction-friendly documents company-wide. He came to TES from Hunt Construction Group, where he served as MEP coordinator for University Hospitals’ new research laboratory in Cleveland, OH. Previously, he was operations manager for The Brewer-Garrett Company, responsible for all aspects of construction and profitability for the design-build contractor. His background also includes positions as president of Perfect Air Corporation, a full-service mechanical contracting firm serving the residential and light commercial markets, sales representative for an HVAC products rep firm, and field superintendent for mechanical contracting and sheet metal contracting firms. He began his career as a union sheet metal worker.
Scherry’s experience in building customer relationships and overseeing construction projects is key to his role at TES Engineering. TES focuses on the partnership between the owner or facility operator, the installing contractor and the design team to insure that each project is completed to satisfaction. They take a unique, non-adversarial approach, acting as the owner’s agent throughout the design and construction process, communicating openly with contractors to reduce their risk, and assisting the design team to achieve the desired result.
Cleveland, OH-based TES Engineering provides flexible specialized mechanical and consulting engineering activities molded to the business processes of regional retail mall developers, design/build contractors, and manufacturers nationwide. TES’ expertise helps clients create spaces that generate profits quickly, reduce energy use, make revamping or expansion decisions efficiently, eliminate bid contingencies, reduce risk, troubleshoot code requirements, and speed permitting and construction.
