TES Engineering’s Growth Prompts Move to Larger Quarters

CLEVELAND, OH — Aug. 23, 2006 — TES Engineering, a national consulting mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) engineering firm, has moved to larger quarters to accommodate staff expansions supporting its continuing growth.  Revenues have nearly tripled in the past five years and additional increases of more than 70 percent are projected by 2010.

Founded in 1993 as Thermal Environmental Systems, Inc., the firm was renamed TES Engineering in 2002 to reflect its expanded, full-service MEP capabilities.  Since then, TES has added 10 engineers and designers, and had already doubled its space at its previous location in 2004.  TES’ new home at 25760 First Street in the Cleveland, OH suburb of Westlake has 6,600 sq ft for offices and conference rooms, with room to triple its size as they continue their growth.

President Lawrence (Larry) M. Thomas, P.E., attributes TES’ success to a unique perspective.  “My partner, Steve Chase, and I both have hands-on backgrounds in construction that enable us to provide dependable guidance to our clients in both the technical and budgetary aspects of a project,” he says.  “Our documents bring out a higher quality bid, create better competition, generate fewer change orders, and provide a shorter time-to-completion—all of which save our clients money and enable them to make money faster.”  Another difference is taking the owner’s point of view in questioning codes and specifications, seeking cost-effective design/equipment alternatives, and avoiding project delays.

TES’ services include engineering consulting and MEP design.  The Firm has developed an industry specialization in retail, which includes working for national developers such as The Richard E. Jacobs Group, Inc., Simon Property Group, Inc., CBL & Associates Properties, Inc., Westfield Group and Poag & McEwen Lifestyle Centers, for national retailers directly, including Borders and La-Z-Boy Stores and through architects on projects such as Steve & Barry’s, Barnes and Noble, Sony Retail, and Anne Fontaine. TES also has broad MEP design expertise in areas such as commercial office space, multi-story residential, senior living, and light industrial.

Cleveland, OH-based TES Engineering provides flexible specialized consulting MEP engineering activities molded to the business processes of the construction industry nationwide, with an emphasis on regional retail developments, design/build contracting and manufacturing.  TES’ expertise helps clients create spaces that generate profits quickly, reduce energy use, make changes or expansion decisions efficiently, reduce bid contingencies and risk, troubleshoot code requirements, and speed permitting and construction.  For more information, contact: TES Engineering, 25760 First St., Cleveland, OH 44145.  Phone: (440) 871-2410.  Internet: www.tesengineering.com.
